Throwback Tuesday

I recently recovered some photos from my college days from a CD that I thought for sure was a goner. I have enough pics for many, many Throwback Tuesdays!

The lovely folks surrounding me in this pic (circa 2002) were my coworkers @ Louis' Restaurant where I waited tables through college. I'm not sure what happened to these folks, but I sure miss them!

This has been your weekly dose of Throwback Tuesday ( I think I'll have a Throwback Thursday too, as it has more of a ring to it-I have plenty of pics to go around).:)

iLove Tuesday Tunes (a lil' early-I'm sleepy)

You are listening to According to You, by Orianthi. I have to admit this song is a guilty pleasure of mine.

Congrats to Amanda!

This is a little late, but I just want to give a shout out to my Sweet or Sad Sunday winner, Amanda! She's a great mom to a beautiful little baby girl, and she also has great taste in fragrances. She recently received honors in the Body Marinade contest. She came up with a delcious scent, which she named, "Sweet Baby." Sweet Baby is a combination of baby powder and strawberries. Keep reading Amanda!:)

Manic Monday

What a day! Our only babysitter is out of town and it's the busiest time of the month for me workwise. I rushed off to Monday morning staff meeting and then to Sevierville for a meeting and then back to the hubster's office/in-law's house to multitask work and keeping Liv out of trouble. Oh, yeah, and she had her very first dental appointment this afternoon. Here are the pics. I took a video on my phone, but it won't load for some reason-I'll keep working on it. Liv was a great patient, and as a reward, the dentist made a balloon animal for her. Liv chose the alligator. Good times!

Once Upon a Time I was Smart

I found a CD with almost every paper I wrote in college. Here is one of my papers-I can't believe I wrote this haha!

 Multiple Regression Findings

The original relationship between ENV (How aware are you of environmental problems?) and REC (Do you recycle?) was controlled for the importance of conserving water and electricity (CONSERVE). ENV was based on an index response level of 1 through 3 with the low score being 1-unaware and the high score being 3- very aware. The response level for REC was ranked from 1 to 4 with the low score being 4-strongly disagree and the high score being 1-strongly agree. The Scale CONSERVE consisted of our variables, LIGHTS (when I leave the room I normally turn off the lights) and WATR (I regularly conserve water). CONSERVE is based on an index response level of 2 to 8 with the low being 2-strongly disagree and the high being 8-strongly agree. The results of this model appear in Appendix 7. The F ratio is statistically significant at .001. Environmental Awareness (ENV) was statistically significant at .005, and Recycling was also statistically significant at .033. This produces a Case III relationship. A unit change in ENV produces a change of .651 units in the dependent variable. A unit change in RECYCLE produces a .546 unit change. Evaluating the significant standardized Beta weights reveal that Environmental Awareness with an absolute weight of .651, is more significant than RECYCLE; with an absolute weight of .540. This regression shows that ENV and REC are both significant predictors of the dependent variable CONSERVE, with Environmental awareness (ENV) being more significant.

The original relationship between SEX and ED (what is your education level?) was controlled for ENV (how aware are you of environmental problems?). The results of the model appear in appendix 7. The F ratio was statistically significant at .010. SEX was not statistically significant at .377, and ED was statistically significant at .004. This produces a Case II relationship. A unit change in Education (ED) produces a change of .113 units in SEX.

The original relationship between SEX and VOTE (Are you registered to vote?) was controlled for the variable scale AWARE. AWARE was made up of our variables IMPTRAN (I consider the impact of my mode of transportation on the environment), EPA (I would support higher EPA emission standards in Tennessee), WATRWSTE (I am disturbed by waste in our water ways.), and INCAW (The classes I took increased my awareness of environmental issues). The index response levels of AWARE ranked from a high score of 16-strongly agree, to a low score of 4-strongly disagree. The results of the model appear in Appendix 7. The F ratio is statistically significant at .003. SEX was statistically significant .003, and VOTE was not statistically significant at .050. This produces a Case I relationship. A unit change in SEX produces a change of .02007 units in whether individuals were registered to vote, VOTE.

The original relationship between IMPTRAN (I consider the impact of my mode of transportation on the environment), and WTRWSTE (I am disturbed by waste in our water ways) was controlled for being affected by litter AFTLIT (In general, litter on the ground affects me). IMPTRAN was based on an index response level from 1 to 4 with the low score being 1-strongly disagree and the high score being 4- strongly agree. The index response level for WTRWSTE ranked from 1 to 4 with the low score being 1-strongly disagree and the high score of 4- strongly agree. The index response levels for AFTLIT ranked from 1 to 4 with the low being 1-strongly disagree and the high being 4-strongly agree. The results of this model appear in Appendix 7. The F-Ratio is statistically significant at .000. IMPTRAN was not statistically significant at .120, and WTRWSTE was statistically significant at .000. This produces a Case II relationship. A unit change in WTRWSTE produces a change of .0475 units in IMPTRAN (considering the impact of transportation).

The original relationship between SEX and ENV (how aware are you of environmental problems?) was controlled for the scale variable MONEY. The variable ENV was based on an index response level of 1 through 3 with the low score being 1-unaware and the high score being 3-very aware. The scale variable MONEY consisted of the variables PAY (I would be willing to pay more for environment-friendly products) and BUY (I purchase environment-friendly goods). The response score for MONEY is measured on a scale of two through 8 with the low score being 2-strongly disagree and the high score being 8-strongly agree. The results of the model appear in Appendix 7. The F ratio is statistically significant at .001. SEX was statistically significant at .016. This produces a Case III relationship. A unit change in SEX produces a change of .692 units in MONEY. A unite change in ENV produces a .953 change in MONEY. Evaluating the significant standardized Beta weights reveal that sex with an absolute weight of .221 is less significant than ENV, with an absolute weight of .299. This regression shows that SEX and ENV are both significant predictors of MONEY with ENV being more significant.

Sweet or Sad Sunday

(actual possum in my driveway a couple of years ago-how many people just happen to have a picture of a possum saved on their computer??? hehe)

(click on link) This did NOT happen in TN!

"The trooper says one person saw Wolfe kneeling before the animal and gesturing as though he were conducting a seance. He says another saw Wolfe attempting to give mouth-to-mouth resuscitation."

Sweet or sad? You tell me. Remember, the first person to comment will have a special post dedicated to them! What an honor, right? hehe;)

Saturday's Sights

We've had a massive amount of rain in East Tennessee over the past couple of months, so when we are finally blessed enough to have a sunny and warm day, we take full advantage of it! Enjoy the pictures and Liv Vids! Please remember to scroll down to music player and mute it before watching the Liv Vids. Thanks!

Friday Foolishness

Liv dances with a Happy Meal box on her head in her self-picked outfit-I think this calls for a Friday Foolishness post, don't you? Don't forget to scroll down to the music playlist and mute the volume. Thanks!

Friday's Fact

You can burn up to 500-1000 calories doing one hour of Zumba!

(don't forget to scroll down to the bottom of the page to mute the music player)

Everyone has been asking me to do a post about my new love, Zumba. I've been doing zumba twice a week for about a month now, and with each class I fall in love just a little bit more. I would seriously go 5 nights a week if I could! Liv enjoys it too, because she gets to spend time @ "Kids' Club," while I'm in class. There are two different instructors at my gym, which is nice because each of them have their own style. For instance, one of my instructors also teaches dance so she throws in a nice hip-hop mix from time to time (i.e. Lil' Wayne's Lollipop). I secretly want to be her as I'm pretty sure she has zero body fat.;) Anyhoo, the best thing about Zumba is that you forget you're even exercising.  I could go on and on about Zumba, but I'll just let you watch the video instead. I'm pretty sure this video is about 20 years old, but it gets the job done.:) Enjoy!
